Good news for eBay sellers with lower sale volumes – You will soon be able to bask in the glory of the privileged PowerSeller programme!
Anyone meeting the following criteria from April 2010 will now earn 5% off their final value fees;
• Sales of at least £2,000 per 12 months to UK and Ireland (formerly £12,000 per year)
• 100 transactions per 12 months (formerly 1200 per year)
• Detailed Seller Ratings (DSR’s) of at least 4.6 across the board
• Minimum standards (Read More)
• 100 feedback and minimum of 98% feedback
• eBay business account holder
• You’ve behaved yourself and paid your eBay fees – no policy breaches, account in good financial standing
What do these changes mean to you?
Lowering the sales and volumes for becoming a PowerSeller should lead to a lot more people achieving the status in April 2010, and you may well be one of them – congratulations!
Many small sellers have complained that eBay has turned its back on them recently in favour of the big players, so perhaps this measure is intended to redress the balance.
The starting 5% rate is certainly not a significant amount, but every little helps and any reduction in seller fees should be welcomed.
The interesting thing to note is that eBay are only taking UK and Ireland sales into account, which seems like a rather curious decision. Does anyone have any ideas why they would have done this, it doesn’t seem logical to me to differentiate between the UK and EU/Rest Of World?
Update – Just noticed that eBay doesn’t seem to be providing figures on what discount you will get for achieving higher sales figures and volumes. The latest release shows 5-15% (depending on sales) for standard sellers and 20-30% for top rated sellers, but no actual figures are stated – Maybe they haven’t decided yet?
